LOUISVILLE, Ky. – The University of Louisville track & field teams are set for their first competition of the new year when the Rod McCravy Memorial Invitational takes place on Jan. 9-10.
The meet, hosted by the University of Kentucky, will take place at the Norton Healthcare Sports & Learning Center in Louisville and will feature a total of 18 teams, including nine Power Four programs.
Friday's field events will get underway at 12:00 p.m. ET with action on the track set to start at 3:00 p.m. ET. The full schedule of events for both days of competition can be found here. There will be no admission charge for the meet, but there will be a $10 fee for parking in a surface lot provided by the facility.
Louisville will be represented by a contingent of roughly 45 student-athletes for their first meet in 2026, including Synclair Savage, the 2025 outdoor national champion in the women's long jump, who is slated to make her season debut.
The Cardinals last competed on Dec. 6 when the teams split between the Commonwealth College Opener and Sharon Colyear-Danville Season Opener to open the 2025-26 campaign, setting a pair of program records in the women's triple jump and men's 5000m in the process.
Alba Cuns Iglesias made the most of her first competition since May 2024, posting an NCAA-leading mark triple jump of 13.25m (43-5.75) in the women's triple jump on her way to ACC Women's Field Athlete of the Week honors, while Elsingi Kipruto clocked a 5000m time of 13:29.37 in his collegiate indoor debut and was subsequently named ACC Men's Freshman of the Week.
