Rose, Moore Among Perfect Game’s Top Juniors
January 14, 2026 | Baseball
LOUISVILLE, Ky. – The University of Louisville baseball program had a pair of outfielders ranked among the top juniors in the country for the 2026 season by Perfect Game on Wednesday.
Zion Rose was ranked 15th overall, while Lucas Moore was 22nd. The duo was previously named preseason All-Americans by the organization.
Rose proved to be one of the elite power and speed combo players in the country in 2025. The Chicago native hit .310 with 16 doubles, three triples and 13 home runs, while going 31-for-34 in stolen bases. Rose also scored 64 runs and led the Cards with 67 RBIs. He ranked fourth in the ACC in stolen bases, fifth in RBIs, fifth in triples, seventh in runs, 11th in hits and 12th in total bases last year while transitioning to a full-time outfielder.
Rose is a two-time All-ACC selection and has competed with the USA Collegiate National Team in each of the last two summers. He has also been excellent in the classroom, winning the NCAA Elite 90 Award last spring for the highest GPA among student-athletes competing at the College World Series.
After a good freshman season, Moore exploded onto the national scene as a sophomore. The Cincinnati, Ohio, native earned All-America recognition after hitting .341 with 10 doubles, three triples and five home runs. Moore led the team with 92 hits, 85 runs scored and went 53-for-54 in stolen bases.
The 53 stolen bases led the country and were the second-most in a single season in program history, and he was the first Power Four player to steal 50 or more bases since Trea Turner in 2012. His 85 runs scored led all Power Four players and ranked second nationally and were tied for the second-most in program history.
Moore joined Rose as part of Team USA during the summer.
The dynamic outfield duo will take the field for the first time in 2026, as the Cardinals host Michigan State for the first of a three-game series on Feb. 13 at Jim Patterson Stadium.
