Cards Set to Be Represented at USATF Outdoor Championships

Jayden Ulrich, Synclair Savage, Layla Roebke, Natalie Lark, Gabriela Leon, and Sandi Morris will all compete at the national meet from July 31-August 3 in Eugene, Ore.
LOUISVILLE, Ky. – The University of Louisville track & field program will be well-represented at the 2025 USATF Outdoor Championships, where six athletes associated with the program will compete in a total of four events.
The national championship meet will take place from July 31 to August 3 at Hayward Field in Eugene, Ore., as athletes from across the nation vie for a spot on the United States roster for the 2025 World Athletics Championships, which will take place in Tokyo in mid-September.

Fresh off the conclusion of her illustrious collegiate career, Ulrich will contest the women's discus throw this weekend, looking to build off her runner-up finish in the event at last year's US Olympic Trials that earned her a spot on the United States Olympic Team for the 2024 Paris Olympics. A native of East Alton, Ill., Ulrich enters the competition with a personal-best mark of 69.39m (227-8) that ranks as the second-best throw in NCAA history and the third-best throw in United States history.
Savage will make her first career appearance at the USATF Outdoor Championships this weekend and her first appearance in the women's long jump since winning the NCAA title in the event at the NCAA Outdoor Championships in June. The native of Acworth, Ga. became the fifth outdoor national champion in program history after leaping to a personal-best mark of 6.72m (22-0.5) on her final attempt of the competition.
Roebke will also make her USATF Outdoor Championships debut in the women's 3000m steeplechase after a season where she qualified for the NCAA Outdoor Championships for the first time and lowered the Louisville school record on three separate occasions. The native of Niwot, Colo. enters the meet with a personal-best time of 9:49.08 that she set at the NCAA East Regional in May.
Lark, who has continued competing since exhausting her NCAA eligibility at the conclusion of the 2025 indoor season, rounds out the trio of Cardinals making their national championship debuts. The native of Dallas, Texas will contest the women's pole vault, entering the competition with a personal-best outdoor mark of 4.45m (14-7.25).
Leon, the 2022 NCAA outdoor champion in the women's pole vault and current program volunteer, will contest her fourth straight outdoor national championship meet. A native of Grand Rapids, Mich., Leon enters the meet with an outdoor personal record of 4.65m (15-3.25).
Morris, the United States record holder in the women's pole vault and current program volunteer, rounds out the field for the Cardinals as she will compete in the 12th outdoor national championship meet of her storied career. The native of Greenville, S.C. comes into the meet with a season-best mark of 4.82m (15-9.75) and a personal record of 5.00m (16-5).
