The 2025 NCAA champion in the women's long jump becomes the third Cardinal in the last four seasons to earn the honor.
CHARLOTTE, N.C. – University of Louisville women's track & field redshirt senior Synclair Savage has been named the 2025 ACC Women's Outdoor Track & Field Field Athlete of the Year, as announced by the conference office on Monday.
Savage, who was also named the USTFCCCA Southeast Regional Women's Outdoor Field Athlete of the Year on June 20, becomes the third Cardinal in the last four seasons to earn ACC Women's Outdoor Field Athlete of the Year honors, joining Gabriela Leon (2022) and Jayden Ulrich (2024).
At the NCAA Outdoor Championships on June 12, Savage captured the fifth outdoor national title in program history and first since 2022, winning the women's long jump with a personal-best and program-record mark of 6.72m (22-0.75) that came on the final attempt of both the competition and her collegiate career.
Prior to taking the top spot at the national championship meet, she won the event at the NCAA East Regional with a leap of 6.64m (21-9.5), matching the farthest jump at the meet since 2017.
The redshirt senior also earned a silver medal at the ACC Outdoor Championships in May, recording a final mark of 6.41m (21-0.5) to help lead the Cardinals to a runner-up finish in the team standings, their best finish in program history.
Over the course of the 2025 outdoor season, the native of Acworth, Ga. won six of the seven long jump competitions she participated in, while also notching five of the top 10 marks in program history.
