The three-day event will take place from May 15-17 in Winston-Salem, N.C.
LOUISVILLE, Ky. – The University of Louisville track & field teams are set to begin their postseason at the ACC Outdoor Track & Field Championships.
The three-day event will take place May 15-17 at Kentner Stadium in Winston-Salem, N.C on the campus of Wake Forest University.
Entering the competition, the Louisville women are ranked third in the most recent USTFCCCA ACC Rating Index, while the men's squad currently ranks seventh. The Cardinals will be looking to improve off their finish at last season's ACC Outdoor Championships, where the women's team placed eighth and the men finished 12th.
Earlier this season at the ACC Indoor Championships, the women's squad posted their best finish at the meet in program history with a third-place finish, and the men's team placed 11th.
Action will begin on Thursday morning for the Cardinals at 12:00 p.m. ET with the start of the men's decathlon, while the day's track events will begin at 7:00 p.m. ET with the preliminary round of the women's 400m hurdles. The full schedule of events can be found here.
Portions of the meet from each of the three days of competition will be streamed live on ACCNX. The streaming schedule can be found below.
The top-three finishers in each individual event and the top relay team will earn All-ACC First Team distinction, while the athletes who finish fourth through sixth in each individual event and the second and third place relay team will be honored as Second Team All-ACC.
Coming into the conference championship meet, Jayden Ulrich leads the ACC in both the women's shot put (18.52m) and women's discus throw (66.14m), while Kiyah Yeast holds the top time in the women's 200m with a 23.09.
Along with the trio of ACC-leading marks, the Cards boast a total of 26 marks that rank among the top eight in the conference thus far this season.
Last season at the 2024 ACC Outdoor Championships, Ulrich captured a pair of conference titles in the women's shot put and women's discus throw to lead the charge for the Cardinals as one of five returning athletes that earned All-ACC honors in Atlanta, a list which also includes Lucy Fellows (women's heptathlon), Ian Kibiwot (men's 5000m), Roman Kuleshov (men's triple jump), and Iliana Triantafyllou (women's pole vault).
