
Cards Finish ACC Men's Golf Championship in Ninth Place

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – The University of Louisville ended its run at the Atlantic Coast Conference Men's Golf Championship with a ninth-place finish Saturday at Olde Stone Country Club in Bowling Green, Ky. The Cardinals needed to place in the top eight to advance to Sunday's Match Play round.
The Cardinals closed the day at six-over-par for the round and the tournament, shooting 281-295-294-870. Virginia won stroke play at 18-under-par, while North Carolina was in second place. Clemson, Florida State, SMU, California, Wake Forest and Georgia Tech all advance to Sunday's match play.
Sebastian Moss posted the top finish for the Cardinals by ending the championship at 2-under-par. The senior finished in a tie for 17th place with his scores of 68-76-70=214. Moss was able to stay under par by recording three consecutive birdies on holes 10-12 during Saturday's final 18 holes. It was the third time he finished in the top 20 at the ACC Championship during his four-year career.
Easton Johnson was solid over the three-day weekend by finishing at 1-over-par. The junior was 3-under-par through 36 holes until he closed Saturday with a 76. The product of Kansas City, Mo., was tied for 25th overall at the championship by shooting 70-71-76=217.
Brady Smith finished his first ACC tournament in a tie for 49th after closing his rounds at 7-over-par. The Kentucky native shot 75-74=74=223. Patrick Keeling closed his final round on Saturday with a 4-over 76 to finish in a tie for 53rd place. He finished at 8-over-par for the three-day event with scores of 73-75-76=224.
The Cardinals will await their postseason fate when the NCAA announces regional selections on April 30 at 1 p.m. on the Golf Channel.
