Cards Set to Host Rival Kentucky in Spring Match

LOUISVILLE, Ky. -- The University of Louisville volleyball team will close out its spring season against rival Kentucky this Friday, April 18th, at 6 p.m. (ET) at L&N Arena. This is the fourth and final match of UofL's spring season. Â
The Cards come into this final exhibition match with a 3-0 spring record, having defeated Vanderbilt, Indiana and most recently Tennessee in five sets (25-22, 20-25, 23-25, 25-23, 15-11). Junior Reese Robins recorded 19 kills in the match against the Lady Vols last Saturday. Transfer Chloe Chicoine notched four aces in the match.
The Wildcats finished last season with a 23-8 record (14-2 SEC). Kentucky finished first in the SECÂ and made it to the NCAA Tournament Quarterfinals, losing to Pittsburgh in three sets. The Cats are led by head coach Craig Skinner, who has coached at UK since 2004, and is entering his 21st season at the helm. He coached the Wildcats to the 2020 NCAA Championship, winning in four sets against the Texas Longhorns. Â
The Wildcats return junior Brooklyn Deleye, who recorded 531 kills as a sophomore last season as an outside hitter. As a freshman, Deleye was the SEC Freshman of the Year, was nominated to the SEC All-Freshman team and was an AVCA All-America Honorable Mention. UK also returns junior libero Molly Tuozzo, who put up 423 digs last season as a sophomore. She also recorded back-to-back season of 30+ aces as a freshman and a sophomore. Kentucky has a transfer class of three players, two of whom transferred from Purdue, outside hitter Eva Hudson and middle blocker Lizzie Carr. The final transfer being Molly Berezowitz from Marquette. Berezowitz is a 5-foot-7 libero/defensive specialist with two years remaining eligibility.Â

- Please be advised there is a high school track meet happening at Cardinal Park this weekend. Parking will be first-come, first-serve in the SAC garage.
- Parking will be offered at L&N Stadium with a complimentary shuttle service down Floyd Street to L&N Arena. Pick up will be in the bus circle outside Gates 2 & 3. Service will begin at 4:30 p.m. and run until the end of the match.
