Noah Koch and Jade Whitfield posted personal-best marks in the discus throw, with Whitfield’s mark of 61.25m (200-11) good for a win in Section B of the women’s event.
RAMONA, Okla. – The University of Louisville track & field teams were represented by three throwers on Thursday at the ninth meet of the 2025 Oklahoma Throws Series, two of which posted personal-best marks in the discus throw that rank among the best in program history.
Noah Koch got the action started in the men's discus throw, setting a personal record with a mark of 59.16m (194-1) to move him up to second in the Louisville record books while also improving his previous season-best mark by over six meters.
On the women's side, Jade Whitfield secured a victory in Section B of the women's discus throw after setting a new personal record of her own by notching a toss of 61.25m (200-11) to become only the second woman in program history to eclipse the 60-meter barrier in the discus. Entering the weekend, Whitfield's mark would rank in the top among NCAA competitors thus far this season.
Jayden Ulrich also competed in the women's discus throw, recording a mark of 62.17m (203-11) to finish sixth in Section A of the event, the third time the senior has been over the 60-meter mark in three meets this season.
After placing sixth in Section A on Thursday, Ulrich will return to the ring on Saturday to take part in the women's discus throw as part of the Oklahoma Throws Series World Invitational, which holds a bronze level distinction on the World Athletes Continental Tour.
The 2024 Olympian will be joined in the 30-person field by 12 athletes that also competed at the 2024 Paris Olympics, including two-time Olympic champion Valarie Allman and 2024 NCAA champion Veronica Fraley.
