February 21, 2025 | Track & Field
Ashley Callahan, Natalie Lark and Gabriela Leon will all contest the women’s pole vault at 1:00 p.m. ET on Saturday, February 22.
LOUISVILLE, Ky. – The University of Louisville women's track & field program will be well-represented at the 2025 USATF Indoor Championships, as two current Cardinals and one alum will compete on the national stage this weekend.
Ashley Callahan, Natalie Lark and Gabriela Leon will make up roughly a quarter of the field in the women's pole vault at the national championship meet, with the event set to begin at 1:00 p.m. ET on Saturday, February 22. Live results for the meet can be found here.
This year's USATF Indoor Championships will take place on Saturday, February 22 and Sunday, February 23 at the Ocean Breeze Athletic Complex in Staten Island, N.Y. The meet serves as an opportunity for athletes to earn a spot on the national team that will represent the United States at the 2025 World Athletics Indoor Championships that will be contested in Nanjing, China from March 21 to March 23.
Callahan, who transferred into the Louisville program for her senior season after spending three years at San Diego State, has been competing unattached this indoor season for the Cardinals but will compete in a Louisville uniform for the first time this weekend. The senior is set to appear at the USATF national meet for the first time in her career, boasting a personal-best mark of 4.51m (14-9.5) that she recorded while competing unattached at the Don Kirby Elite Invitational.
Lark will also make her first career appearance at the national championship meet this weekend, hoping to continue a stellar start to her season that has placed her in prime contention to qualify for next month's NCAA Indoor Championships. The senior currently stands tied for the ninth-best mark in the NCAA thus far this season with her personal-best clearance of 4.47m (14-8) at the PNC Lenny Lyles Invitational that set a new Louisville program record.
Leon rounds out the field for the Louisville representatives, as the 2022 alumna will take part in the USATF Indoor Championships for the third time in her career. Now competing professionally for PUMA while training in Louisville, the 2022 outdoor NCAA champion in the women's pole vault holds a personal-best clearance of 4.70m (15-5), which she posted at the 2024 USATF Indoor Championships on her way to a third-place finish.
