The majority of the team will remain in Louisville to open up the indoor season with the Commonwealth College Opener, hosted by the Kentucky Track & Cross Country Coaches Association (KTCCCA) at the Norton Healthcare Sports & Learning Center.
Action will begin both on the track and in the field at 10:00 a.m. ET and the meet will operate on a rolling schedule. Admission to the meet will cost $20 with an additional $10 charge for parking at the facility. Tickets can be purchased at the door or online here.
The Cards will be represented at the meet by a group of roughly 30 student-athletes consisting of sprinters, middle-distance runners, jumpers, pole vaulters, and combined events athletes.
Notable entries for the Cardinals include KJ Byrd, the lone returner for the Cardinals that qualified for the 2025 NCAA Indoor Championships, and a pair of outdoor Second Team All-Americans from a season ago in Ashley Callahan and Sharvari Parulekar.

Eight distance runners will make their way up to Boston, Mass. for the Sharon Colyear-Danville Season Opener at the Boston University Track & Tennis Center, one of the top indoor distance meets in the nation.
The Cardinals will largely be represented in the men's and women's 5000m while also fielding athletes in the women's 3000m and men's mile, as the NCAA's top distance runners look to secure championship-qualifying times early in the season for the NCAA Indoor Championships in March.
After a successful cross country season that saw the Louisville men's team qualify for the NCAA Cross Country Championships as a unit for the first time in a decade, the squads will be led on Saturday by Elsingi Kipruto, the 2025 ACC Men's Cross Country Freshman of the Year, and Geoffrey Kirwa, the 2025 NCAA runner-up in the men's 3000m steeplechase.
