El Amine Gets His UofL Start at ITA All-Americans

Hamza El Amine to compete in pre-qualifier round in Tulsa
LOUISVILLE, Ky. – UofL men's tennis newcomer Hamza El Amine will hit the courts for the first time as a Cardinal on Saturday as he competes in the pre-qualifying round of the ITA All-American Championships in Tulsa, Okla.
El Amine transferred to The Ville from VCU where he posted an 11-7 record in singles. He was the Atlantic 10 Rookie of the Week six times and was named A10 Preseason All-Conference Team for his freshman season.
Under the NCAA pilot program, new in 2024-25, this tournament is the first of four events where individuals will automatically qualify for the NCAA Championship. The eight main draw quarterfinalists and two feed-in consolation finalists, 10 players total, will qualify for the NCAA Singles Championship in November.
The pre-qualifying draw at the ITA All-American Championships feeds into the qualifying draw then the main draw. The main draw of the championship runs from Wednesday, Sept. 25 through Sunday, Sept. 29.
The Cardinals have a recent successful history in the ITA All-American Championships - just last year, Etienne Donnet advanced to the quarterfinals of the event.
