Louisville is Tied for Fourth at Cardinal Cup After Second Round

Carmen Griffiths and Thienna Huynh is tied for third overall
SIMPSONVILLE, Ky. — The Louisville women's golf team is tied for fourth place following the second round of the Cardinal Cup at the University of Louisville Golf Course on Saturday. The Cards shot as a team 11-over-par 299 and they are 20-over-par 596 through the first two rounds. Individually, the Cardinals have three players within the Top-15 heading into the final round.
Thienna Huynh and Carmen Griffiths had similar rounds once again on Saturday. The pair tallied three birdies each on the afternoon and finished with a 2-over-par 74 in the second round. They are both inside the Top-10 at 1-over-par through the first two rounds and tied for third overall.
Beatriz Barrios tallied two birdies on the round and finished at 4-over-par 76. She is inside the Top-15 at tied for 13th overall at 4-over-par for the tournament.
Gabbi Bentancourt is tied for 34th overall after a 6-over-par 78 in the second round. She is 9-over par overall going into the final round.
Millie Cottrell rebounded after a tough start to the second round. After she bogied the first three holes of the day, she tallied three birdies to close out the front nine at even par. Cottrell finished the round 2-over-par 74 and is 9-over-par through the first two rounds. She is tied for 34th overall heading into the final round.
Veronika Exposito also rebounded after scoring 3-over-par through the first three holes. She was just 2-over-par the rest of the round to finish 5-over-par 77, the same score she had in the first round. She is tied for 41st overall at 10-over-par going into the final round.
Closing out the round for the Cardinals was freshman Bailey Burkett. She carded an 83 in the second round and is tied for 70th overall after the first two rounds.
