
Nicole Perroni and Kokoro Nakazawa Named to IWLCA West/Midwest All-Region First Team

LOUISVILLE, Ky. – Nicole Perroni and Kokoro Nakazawa of the University of Louisville women's lacrosse team were named to the IWLCA West/Midwest Region First Team, the media outlet announced Thursday.
Perroni, a graduate midfielder, tallied 45 goals and 10 assists in her final collegiate season. She ended her Louisville career on a 55-game point scoring streak and a 54-game goal scoring streak, both the longest streaks in program history. She was named a USA Lacrosse DI All-America Honorable Mention on May 9.
The native of Ontario, Canada led the team with a total of 44 caused turnovers, 73 draw controls, and 48 ground balls this season. She averaged 2.32 caused turnovers per game, which ranks second in the ACC and 11th in the country. Perroni led the ACC with 2.53 ground balls per game and 0.95 free position goals per game.
Earlier this season, Perroni was named an ILWomen Midseason All-America Honorable Mention and the USA Lacrosse D1 Player of the Week for her performance in the historic win over Virginia Tech in the first round of the ACC Tournament. Perroni was a 2024 All-ACC First Team selection and Nakazawa was named to the All-ACC Second Team.
Kokoro Nakazawa led the Cardinals in scoring this season with 61 goals and 21 assists. She ranked second in the ACC (21st nationally) in goals and second in the conference (22nd nationally) with 82 points. Nakazawa averaged 3.21 goals per game, which ranked third in the ACC.
The attacker from Yokohama, Japan scored at least once in every game this season with at least three goals in 13 of 19 games. She totaled 105 career goals and ended her collegiate stint on a 24-game goal-scoring streak that dated back to 2023.
Kokoro has etched her name into the record books as one of the best scorers in Louisville Lacrosse history. She is third in program history in single-season points (82 points) and tied for seventh in single-season goals (61 goals).
The IWLCA has honored 128 student-athletes in Division I with a selection to one of the All-Region teams for 2024. These student-athletes are now eligible to be named to a national IWLCA All-American team. The IWLCA will announce the 2024 IWLCA Division I All-American teams on May 23.
