Cards Sit in 11th Place after Day One of the Baton Rouge Regional

LOUISVILLE, Ky. – Sebastian Moss and Max Kennedy each shot 73 to lead the University of Louisville men's golf team to an 11th-place finish after the first round of the NCAA Baton Rouge Regional at the University Club in Baton Rouge, La., on Monday morning.
The Cardinals carded a 13-over-par 301 after the first 18 holes of competition to slip out of the top 10. Virginia is tops after the first day at 8-under-par, followed by top-ranked Auburn at 3-under-par. Ohio State and Houston are tied for fourth at 1-over-par as they begin play on Tuesday morning.
Moss and Kennedy are tied for 22nd place after finishing their first rounds at 1-over-par. Moss recorded a pair of birdies during his round, registering scores on No. 2 and No. 10 on his first 18 holes of regional action.
Kennedy was solid by recording three birdies on the front nine holes, but sputtered on the back by recording four bogeys and one double to also put him in a tie for 22nd place at 1-over-par.
Easton Johnson is tied for 37th place after he carded a first-round score of 75, while Cooper Claycomb and Patrick Keeling are tied for 65th after firing rounds of 80.
The Cards will look to jump back into contention when round two begins on Tuesday at 10:25 a.m. EST. Louisville will be paired with LSU and Loyola Maryland for the second round of action.
