Cardinals Slated to Play Final Two Home Matches of Season

UofL will celebrate seniors Etienne Donnet and Matthew Fung for Senior Day on Sunday
LOUISVILLE, Ky. - For their final homestand of the season, Louisville men's tennis will face off against conference opponents Georgia Tech and Clemson on Friday at 3 p.m. and Sunday at noon, respectively, at the Bass-Rudd Tennis Center. Sunday's match against Clemson will include Senior Day festivities prior to the match.

This will be Louisville's second meeting with Clemson this season. In the first outing, the consolation match of the ITA Kickoff, the Cardinals swept the Tigers 4-0 in a neutral site match.

The Cards are coming off a tough 0-2 weekend on the road following losses to Duke and UNC. In the latest ITA team rankings, UofL fell to #42. In the singles rankings, Etienne Donnet falls to #47 and Will Mayew falls to #112. Natan Rodrigues enters the rankings for the first time this spring at #117. The duo of Donnet and Natan Rodrigues dropped to #15 after spending nearly four weeks in the top 10.

Mayew was the only Cardinal to collect a point for the team this past weekend during his hard-fought singles match against Duke.

Series Record: The series is even at 6-6

Scouting the Yellow Jackets: Georgia Tech is ranked #35 in the ITA team standings. The Yellow Jackets also have two individuals ranked, with Andrea Martin at #12 and Keshav Chopra at #91. Doubles tandem Chopra and Marcus McDaniel are ranked #19. Georgia Tech is coming off a strong home win against Miami last Saturday, but the Jackets are 2-5 when away from Atlanta this season.

Scouting the Tigers: Clemson has no shortages of rankings with the team coming in at #60, singles players Wissam Abderrahman in at #80 and Ryuhei Azuma at #108, and the duo of Maxwell Smith and Noa Vukadin at #69. The Tigers have struggled in ACC play this season; Clemson picked up just their second conference victory with a win over Miami last Thursday.
