Cards Ready to Host Clark Wood Invitational

The two-day event will begin on Friday morning at 11:00 a.m. with the men’s hammer throw.
LOUISVILLE, Ky. – The University of Louisville track & field teams are set to take part in their only home meet of the outdoor season this weekend, with the Clark Wood Invitational slated to take place at Owsley B. Frazier Cardinal Park from Apr. 26-27.
The two-day event will begin at 11:00 a.m. on Friday morning with the men's hammer throw, while action on the track will get started with the women's 800m at 4:30 p.m.
Admission to the meet for all spectators will be $10. The full schedule of events can be found here.
Additionally, senior Rylee Penn is set to travel to the Virginia High Performance meet on Apr. 28 to compete in the women's 1500m. Penn, who currently ranks among the top-25 nationally in the event thus far this season, will toe the line in Charlottesville at 7:40 p.m. on Sunday evening.
The Cardinals return to the track after competing at Kentucky's Jim Green Invitational last weekend, where they accrued 10 top-five individual finishes while seeing nine personal-best performances.
Entering the final weekend of April, the Cards boast 14 marks that currently stand among the top-50 in the nation, led by Jayden Ulrich's NCAA-leading mark of 64.29m (210-11) in the women's discus throw and Brion Stephens' third-ranked clearance of 2.23m (7-3.75) in the men's high jump.
