Perroni Named USA Lacrosse D1 Player of the Week

The midfielder is being recognized for her role in the historic win over Virginia Tech.
LOUISVILLE, Ky. – Nicole Perroni of the University of Louisville lacrosse team was named the USA Division I Women's Lacrosse Player of the Week, the outlet announced Tuesday.
This marks the first USA Lacrosse honor for a Card under Head Coach Scott Teeter's tenure.
Perroni had an outstanding performance on Sunday, leading the Cardinals to their first ACC Tournament win in program history over Virginia Tech. The graduate midfielder led the team in scoring with four goals and an assist while contributing on the defensive front as well. Perroni recorded four ground balls, two draw controls, and three caused turnovers.
She currently leads the ACC in caused turnovers per game with 2.33, free position goals per game with 1.00, and ground balls per game with 2.61. Her 2.33 caused turnovers per game ranks ninth nationally.
Playing 70 games in her career, the midfielder is currently on a program-high 54 game goal-scoring and point-scoring streak. Her goal-scoring streak is the longest active streak in the ACC.
Perroni will look to lead her team to the ACC Semifinals for the first time in program history as they play one-seeded Syracuse on Wednesday, April 24. The game is scheduled for 11 a.m. ET and can be watched on the ACC Network.
