April 18, 2024 | Track & Field
The two-day event hosted by the University of Kentucky will take place from Apr. 19-20.
LOUISVILLE, Ky. – The University of Louisville track & field teams are set for a short road trip to Lexington for the Jim Green Invitational, which will be staged at the University of Kentucky from Apr. 19-20.
Competition will begin for the Cardinals on Friday afternoon at 2:00 p.m. with the women's pole vault, while action on the track will begin at 5:00 p.m. with the women's 200m.
Along with the host school Kentucky, the two-day invitational will feature a total of seven teams in the Power Five conferences, including four Big Ten squads and an ACC foe in Notre Dame.
Last weekend, the Cards saw a pair of school records fall as the squads split between three meets in California.
Jayden Ulrich continued her dominance in the discus throw, setting a new ACC and program record in the event with a toss of 64.29m (210-11) at the Pacific Coast Invitational on her way to earning ACC Women's Field Athlete of the Week honors. The mark leads the NCAA and ranks ninth in the world this season, while also standing as the eighth-farthest throw in NCAA history.
Rylee Penn also set a new program-best time of 4:14.66 in the women's 1500m in her outdoor debut for the Cardinals at the Bryan Clay Invitational, besting the previous school record by nearly five seconds.
