
Ulrich Breaks Discus School Record to Headline Second Day in Texas

The junior recorded a heave of 60.16m (197-4) to place second in the event at the Texas Relays.
Jayden Ulrich set a new program record in the women's discus throw in her Louisville outdoor debut as the University of Louisville track & field teams wrapped up their second day of competition at the Texas Relays and Bobcat Invitational.

The junior finished as the overall runner-up and the top collegiate athlete in the event at the Texas Relays, registering a throw of 60.16m (197-4) on her second attempt of the competition and shattering the previous program record of 58.34m (191-5) that was set in 2017 by Emmonnie Henderson.Â

Jeremiah Willis also put together a solid performance in the field in Austin, finishing seventh in the men's long jump with a wind-assisted leap of 7.72m (25-4).

At the Bobcat Invitational, the Cardinals saw a pair of athletes secure a pair of top-four finishes in the women's long jump as Ariel Lawrence finished third with a wind-aided mark of 6.19m (20-3.75) and Lucy Fellows claimed fourth in her outdoor debut with a leap of 6.14m (20-175).

Alessandra Rodriguez earned a third-place finish of her own in the women's 1500m, finishing in 4:28.94, while Amy Harding-Delooze placed sixth in 4:36.87.

Competition at both the Texas Relays the Bobcat Invitational will resume tomorrow afternoon at 12:00 p.m. ETÂ Â with the women's high jump.

Along with the two meets in Texas, the Cardinals will be represented later tonight at the Stanford Invitational with Ian Kibiwot set to compete in the men's 10000m at 1:08 a.m. ET.
