The teams will split between the Texas Relays, Bobcat Invitational and Stanford Invitational from Mar. 28-30.
LOUISVILLE, Ky. – The University of Louisville track & field teams begin the 2024 outdoor season this weekend with the squad splitting between three meets.
A delegation of Cardinals will head to Texas where Louisville will be represented at the Texas Relays and the Bobcat Invitational, both of which are scheduled to take place from Mar. 28-30. The Cardinals will also travel Ian Kibiwot to the Stanford Invitational on Mar. 29-30, where the senior will compete in both the men's 5000m and 10000m.
Thursday's action at the Bobcat Invitational will begin at 1:00 p.m. with the women's pole vault, while the Cards will start competition at the Texas Relays at 2:00 p.m. with the men's hammer throw.
Action at the Texas Relays will be available to view through live streams via the Longhorn Network through the ESPN website.
The trio of meets will mark the first outdoor competitions of the season for the Cardinals after an indoor season where the men's team placed seventh at the ACC Indoor Championships and the women's team placed ninth.
Earlier this month at the NCAA Indoor Championships, Jayden Ulrich capped off her debut season in a Louisville uniform with a sixth-place finish in the women's shot put to earn First Team All-American honors, while Trey Allen and Brion Stephens were both named Second Team All-American in the men's high jump.
The Cards also saw an athlete win an ACC yearly award at the conclusion of the indoor season as Cade DeWitt was named ACC Men's Freshman of the Year, becoming the first in program history, male or female, to earn the distinction of the conference's top rookie.
