Cardinals Hit the Road to Clemson and Georgia Tech

LOUISVILLE, Ky. -- The University of Louisville women's tennis team hits the road this week to play at Clemson on Thursday, March 28 at 5 p.m. and at Georgia Tech on Saturday March 30 at 2 p.m. as ACC tennis action continues.

The Cardinals are 4-12 and 0-7 in the ACC. In their last outing, the Cards fell 7-0 to Xavier last Saturday at the Bass Rudd Tennis Center. Louisville dropped the doubles point and then was swept in singles. Louisville is led by Germany Davis, who posts a 7-9 record, primarily at the No. 3 and 4 slots. Berta Miret is 6-8 at the No. 6 spot. Â UofL is 1-8 versus the Tigers although they lost a heartbreaker 4-3 last February.

The Clemson Women's Tennis team (10-7, 1-5 ACC) fell 4-0 to No. 42 Florida State last Sunday. The Tigers are led by Leigh Van Zyl who has posted a 17-9 singles record and Jenna Thompson, who has a 13-9 mark.

Next up is Georgia Tech, the No. 24-ranked Yellowjackets gained momentum early in doubles and won three singles matches to take home a 4-3 victory over No. 19 Miami on Sunday at the Neil Schiff Tennis Center. In over a four-hour battle, Kylie Bilchey clinched the road win as the Yellow Jackets improved to 9-7 overall and 5-3 in Atlantic Coast Conference play.
