
Cardinals Finish in 10th at Collegiate Invitational

Carmen Griffiths was the highest finisher for the Cardinals and was tied for ninth
GUADALAJARA, Mexico — The University of Louisville women's golf team finished 10th overall after the final two rounds of the Collegiate Invitational at Guadalajara Country Club on Saturday. The Cardinals began the day with the final nine holes of the second round and completed the third round before the day was done. Louisville finished with a team score of +49 (913) at the conclusion of the tournament.
Carmen Griffiths was the highest finisher for the Cards as she notched another Top-10 finish this season. She ended the tournament tied for ninth with a 54-hole score of 223. On Saturday, Griffiths finished the second round at 5-over-par 77 and had the same score during the third round to conclude the tournament.
Beatriz Barrios closed out the second round with a 75 after the back nine holes to begin the day. In the third round, Barrios carded an even-par 72 for her best round of the weekend. She finished the tournament tied for 16th overall with a 9-over-par 225. It was Barrios' second Top-20 finish of the season after finishing tied for 20th at the Mercedes Benz Intercollegiate back in October.
Hana Ryskova finished the weekend tied for 42nd overall at 16-over-par, 232. Her best round of the weekend came in the second round with a 3-over-par 75. Her final round was 8-over-par 80 to conclude the tournament.
Rylee Suttor rebounded after a tough back nine to close out the second round. She finished with an 83 in the second round but closed out the tournament with a 4-over-par 76 in the third round. She placed tied for 47th overall with a 18-over-par 234 for the weekend.
Gabbi Bentancourt rounded out the Cardinals in 61st overall with a 27-over-par 243. She closed out the second round with an 86 and then shot a 79 in the final round later in the afternoon.
The Cardinals will return to campus before setting out for their own tournament later in February. Louisville will travel to Melbourne, Fla. for the annual Moon Golf Invitational that will be held at the Suntree Golf Club. The three-day tournament will start on Sunday, February 19 and conclude on Tuesday, February 21.
