Bendsen Tabbed for U23 European Cross Country Championships

LOUISVILLE, Ky. – University of Louisville men's cross country sophomore Gustav Bendsen has been named to the Denmark national team for the 2024 U23 European Cross Country Championships.
The meet will be contested on Dec. 8 in Antalya, Turkey at Dokuma Park with Bendsen set to take part in the U23 men's 6000m race.
The native of Copenhagen, Denmark competed in four meets during his first cross country season with the Cardinals after transferring in from the University of the Cumberlands, finishing among the top three Louisville finishers in each of his final three meets of the 2024 campaign.
Most recently, Bendsen finished 76th overall as the team runner-up at the NCAA Southeast Regional Championships with a 10K time of 31:55.2. The sophomore also posted a season-best 8K time of 24:07.0 at the ACC Cross Country Championships to place 91st overall as the second Cardinal through the line.
