DeBeer and Cresse Named ACC Players of the Week

DeBeer is Offensive and Cresse is Defensive Player of the Week
LOUISVILLE, Ky. -- No. 4-ranked University of Louisville outside hitter Anna DeBeer has been named the Atlantic Coast Conference Offensive Player of the Week, while Louisville redshirt junior middle blocker Cara Cresse was named the ACC Defensive Player of the Week for matches played October 7-13.Â
DeBeer had a career-high 23 kills this weekend to help Louisville defeat No. 21 Florida State. She also added 18 kills to help the Cardinals beat Miami. Defensively, she recorded 11 digs against Florida State to help log her fourth double-double of the season. DeBeer hit .341 in offensive attack to help lead the Cardinals to a 2-0 week and stay undefeated in conference play.

Cresse stood out at the net this weekend with 16 total blocks for the Cardinals. Cresse ranks fifth in the nation in blocks per set (1.56), helping Louisville to be ranked No. 3 in the NCAA in blocks per set. Offensively, she added nine kills to help the Cardinals go 2-0 on the week and remain the only ACC team left undefeated in conference play.
