Rodrigo da Silva, Matthew Fung and Etienne Donnet were available to the media on Wednesday
LOUISVILLE, Ky. - UofL men's tennis head coach Rodrigo da Silva along with fifth-year student-athletes Matthew Fung and Etienne Donnet were available at the Cardinals' Spring Sport Media Day on Wednesday afternoon.
The full press conference is available here.
"We're very excited for the start of the year," said da Silva in his opening statement. "This time of year is very exciting, getting all of the guys coming back and getting ready for the season. It's exciting but also a little bit anxious. We've got a young team; we've got six freshmen on the team right now. I'm just super excited to see how they're going to perform. Then we have these two guys right here that I think are in their ninth year in college right now, so hopefully they have the leadership to take the team to a new level. So I'm excited about it, to get started."
The Cardinals open their season on Wednesday at the Bass-Rudd Tennis Center with a doubleheader against Xavier at noon and Bellarmine at 5 p.m. ET. Louisville is undefeated against both teams, with the series dating back to nearly the inception of the program.
