
2024 Outdoor Track & Field Schedule Released

The only home meet for the Cardinals during the outdoor season will take place on April 26-27 at the Clark Wood Invitational.
University of Louisville director of track & field and cross country Joe Franklin has announced the outdoor track & field schedule for the 2024 season.

After the completion of the indoor season at the NCAA Indoor Championships in early March, the Cardinals will begin the outdoor campaign over the last weekend of March with the squad set to split between four meets.
Â
Louisville will send a delegation of athletes to the 96th annual Clyde Littlefield Texas Relays in Austin, Texas from Mar. 27-30, while also planning to be represented at Texas State's Bobcat Invite in San Marcos, Texas over the same four-day period.

The Cardinals will also compete from Mar. 29-30 at the Stanford Invitational and San Francisco State's Mike Fanelli Track Classic to round out the first weekend of the outdoor season.

The following weekend will also feature a split between three meets, beginning on Apr. 5 with Bellarmine's Jim Vargo Invitational in Louisville. The rest of the team will split the weekend of Apr. 5-6 between Arizona's Jim Click Shoot Out and Multis and the Tennessee Invite.

Louisville will then travel to California to compete at one of the most prestigious outdoor meets in the country from Apr. 11-13 at the Bryan Clay Invitational, with another group set to compete at Long Beach State's Beach Invitational from Apr. 12-13. The following weekend will see the team head over to Lexington, Ky. on Apr. 19-20 for Kentucky's Jim Green Invitational, before the Cardinals split once again.

The majority of the team will remain in Louisville on Apr. 26-27 for the Clark Wood Invitational, the only home meet of the outdoor season, while groups will also travel to the Drake Relays from Apr. 24-27 and to Stanford's Payton Jordan Invitational on Apr. 26.

The regular season concludes with Indiana's Billy Hayes Invitational on May 3 before the Cardinals turn their attention to the postseason portion of the schedule.

The ACC Outdoor Championships are set to take place from May 9-11 in Atlanta, Ga. before qualifying athletes compete at the NCAA East Regional in Lexington from May 22-25. Two weeks after the regional meet, the NCAA Outdoor Championships will be staged in Eugene, Ore. from June 5-8.

After the conclusion of the collegiate season, individuals who have met qualifying marks will return to Eugene for the United States Olympic Trials, which will take place at historic Hayward Field from June 21-30, with a chance to represent the United States at the 2024 Paris Olympics in early August.
