
Cards Ready for Rod McCravy Memorial Invite

The weekend’s field events will begin at noon on Friday afternoon with track events starting at 3:00 p.m.
LOUISVILLE, Ky. – The University of Louisville track & field teams kick off the new year on Jan. 12-13 at the University of Kentucky's Rod McCravy Memorial Invite, which is set to take place at the Norton Healthcare Sports and Learning Center in Louisville.
Along with the Cardinals and Wildcats, the field will feature an ACC foe in Miami (FL) along with three more Power Five opponents in Cincinnati, Ohio State and Texas.
The competition will open at 12:00 p.m. on Friday afternoon with the men's and women's high jump, while the day's track events will begin with the first round of the women's 60m at 3:00 p.m. The meet will resume on Saturday morning at 11:00 a.m. with the women's triple jump, men's pole vault, and women's shot put with events on the track beginning at 12:00 p.m.

The Cardinals return to competition just over a month after beginning the 2023-24 indoor season at the KTCCCA College Opener on Dec. 2.
Louisville's season opener was headlined by three student-athletes capturing ACC weekly awards as Trey Allen, Sophia Day and Cade DeWitt were all recognized by the conference for their performances.
Allen won the men's high jump with a final clearance of 2.24m (7-4.25) that currently stands as the best mark in the nation entering the new year on his way to the second ACC Men's Field Performer of the Week honor of his illustrious career.
Day was recognized as the inaugural ACC Female Freshman of the Week after capping off her collegiate debut in the women's triple jump, while DeWitt was named the ACC Male Freshman of the Week after setting a new Louisville freshman record of 5.23m (17-1.75) in the men's pole vault.
