No. 2 Volleyball Heads to Dayton Before Hosting Penn State

Busy week for the Cards coming off winning the Missouri Tiger Invitational
LOUISVILLE, Ky. – The No. 2-ranked University of Louisville volleyball team takes it's 6-0 record on the road at Dayton on Wednesday at 7 p.m., then host Penn State at L&N Federal Credit Union Arena on Sunday at 1 p.m. The Penn State match will be televised on ESPN2.

Louisville extended its unbeaten start to the year with three 3-set wins over South Dakota, Northern Kentucky, and Missouri this past weekend in the Tiger Invitational in Columbia, Missouri. Head Coach Dani Busboom Kelly notched her 150th win at the helm of the Cardinals on Friday vs. South Dakota. Middle blocker Cara Cresse tallied 26 kills and 15 blocks on the weekend, while opposite hitter Aiko Jones recorded 25 kills and added 14 blocks. Setter Brigitta Petrenko had several Louisville career highs on Saturday against Northern Kentucky, with three kills, 24 assists, and five aces. Setter Elle Glock had 58 assists and 2 aces across the three matches, and libero Elena Scott earned 35 digs, 9 assists, and 4 aces.

Dayton hosted the Dayton Flyer Classic this past weekend and picked up three wins, first defeating North Dakota State 25-22, 25-19, 19-25, 25-16 on Friday. On Saturday, they defeated Butler 25-19, 25-23, 25-23, and followed that with a 21-25, 21-25, 25-22, 25-17, 15-11 comeback win over Ohio, moving them to 5-1 on the year. The Flyers were led by 5-8 outside hitter Lexie Almodovar, who recorded 42 kills across the three matches, and 5-10 setter Alyssa Miller, who notched 105 assists and 24 digs.

this weekend with 53 kills, while 5-7 libero Maddy Bilinovic recorded 35 digs and setter Mac Podraza earned 85 assists. Penn State's season began with two four-set losses to current No. 3-ranked Florida and current No.11-ranked Georgia Tech.
