
Cards Sit in 11th After First Day of Mason Rudolph Championship

Carmen Griffiths led the Cards with a 1-under, 71
FRANKLIN, Tenn. — The University of Louisville women's golf team was back on the course on Friday for the first round of the Mason Rudolph Championship. Held at the Vanderbilt Legends Course, the Cardinals are in 11th place overall out of 18 teams after they shot 5-over 293 as a team on the first day of competition.
Junior Carmen Griffiths paced the Cardinals as she finished under par with a 1-under 71 in the opening round. She is tied for 23rd overall and it is her second-straight round under par dating back to the final round of the Boilermaker Classic. Graduate Rylee Suttor was just one stroke behind Griffiths as she finished with an even-par 72 in the first round and she is tied for 34th overall.
Coming off her career-best 54-round score at the Boilermaker Classic, Hana Ryskova is tied for 59th after shooting 3-over-par 75. Senior transfer Beatriz Barrios is making her first appearance with the Cards and she is also tied at 59th after shooting 75 in the opening round. Senior Molly Lyne rounds out the Cardinals lineup and she is tied for 92nd after a 9-over 81 in the first round.
The Cardinals will be back on the course tomorrow morning for the second round of the tournament. The first tee pairings begin at 9:30 a.m. ET and will continue through 11:50 a.m. Fans can follow along with the live stats here or our social media channels for updates throughout the tournament.
