
2023 Cross Country Schedule Released

LOUISVILLE, Ky. – University of Louisville director of track and field/cross country Joe Franklin has announced the cross country schedule for the 2023 season.
The men's and women's programs will share the same schedule with three regular season meets prefacing the start of postseason competition.
Franklin's first campaign with the Cardinals after coaching for 16 seasons at New Mexico will begin on Sept. 1 with a three-team meet in Richmond, Ky. at the Eastern Kentucky Triangular.
The Cards will take the next four weeks off before resuming competition with their only home meet of the season, the 22nd annual Live in Lou Classic, hosted by the Greater Louisville Sport Commission. The meet is set to be staged at E.P. Tom Sawyer Park on Sept. 30.
Following another two-week break, the teams will travel to College Station, Texas for the Arturo Barrios Invitational that will function as their final regular season meet before the ACC Cross Country Championships are contested on Oct. 27 in Tallahassee, Fla. at Apalachee Regional Park, the site of the 2021 NCAA Cross Country Championships.
The NCAA Southeast Regional, hosted by USC Upstate, will then take place on Nov. 10 in Spartanburg, S.C. as the qualifying meet for the NCAA Cross Country Championships.
The top-two teams and top-10 individuals on non-advancing teams at the regional will advance to the national meet which will be hosted in Charlottesville, Va. at Panorama Farms on Nov. 18.
