
Cards Gear Up for NCAA Individual Championships

Donnet will open singles play Monday, Rodrigues and Salle will compete in the first round of doubles Tuesday
The University of Louisville's Etienne Donnet will open NCAA Singles Championship Monday at 1 p.m. against Michigan's Andrew Fenty; Natan Rodrigues and Fabien Salle will compete in the first round of doubles Tuesday against Tennessee's Pat Harper and Johannus Monday.

The singles and doubles competition will be conducted May 22-27 at the USTA National Campus in Orlando, Florida and is hosted by the University of Central Florida and the Greater Orlando Sports Commission. For more information, please visit the NCAA Championships Page here.
Donnet, a two-time All-ACC selection from Lyon, France has tallied a 26-8 overall singles record and an 19-5 mark in dual matches playing mostly at No. 2. The senior currently stands at No. 45 in the Intercollegiate Tennis Association singles rankings with seven wins against nationally-ranked players. Â

The Lyon, France native will take on Michigan's No. Â 20-ranked Andrew Fenty who helped the seventh-ranked Wolverines to the quarterfinals of the NCAA team championship.

The Cardinal tandem of Salle (Thonon-les-Bains, France) and Rodrigues (Salvador Bahia, Brazil) has registered a 24-7 overall record, going 8-3 as Louisville's top-seeded team. The All-ACC second team duo stands at No. 12 in the doubles rankings.

Salle and Rodrigues will open doubles play Tuesday against Tennessee's fourth-ranked duo of Pat Harper and Johannus Monday who helped lead the ninth-ranked Vols to the round of 16.

This season marks the third time in program history that the Cardinals earned NCAA tournament bids as a team as well as singles and doubles and the first since 2011 when Austen Childs garnered All-American honors in singles and again in doubles while paired Viktor Maksimcuk. That same year, Louisville reached the regional finals at the University of Kentucky.

The Cards finished the season with a 17-12 overall record and reached the finals of the Columbus Regional.
