
Cards Earn Singles, Doubles Bids to NCAA Championship

Etienne Donnet garners an at-large singles bid, Fabien Salle and Natan Rodrigues will represent Louisville in doubles
The University of Louisville's Etienne Donnet has earned an at-large bid to the NCAA singles championship while Fabien Salle and Natan Rodrigues will represent the Cardinals in doubles. Salle was also tabbed as an alternate for singles.
The singles and doubles competition will be conducted May 22-27 at the USTA National Campus in Orlando, Florida, after the conclusion of the team championship, which runs from May 18-20. This year's event will be conducted jointly with the NCAA Divisions II and III Men's and Women's Tennis Championships and hosted by the University of Central Florida and the Greater Orlando Sports Commission.Visit here for more information on the NCAA Singles and Doubles Championships.
Donnet, a two-time All-ACC selection from Lyon, France has tallied a 25-8 overall singles record and an 18-5 mark in dual matches playing mostly at No. 2. The senior currently stands at No. 42 in the Intercollegiate Tennis Association singles rankings with seven wins against nationally-ranked players.
The tandem of Salle (Thonon-les-Bains, France) and Rodrigues (Salvador Bahia, Brazil) has registered a 23-7 overall record, going 7-3 as Louisville's top-seeded team.The All-ACC duo stands at No. 12 in the ITA doubles rankings.
The UofL men's tennis team (16-11) earned its second straight at-large berth and will be making its 14th overall appearance in the NCAA tournament this weekend when the Cards travel to Columbus, Ohio to face Texas Tech in the first round at 10 a.m. at Ohio State's Auer Tennis Complex.
This season marks the third time in program history that the Cardinals earned NCAA tournament bids as a team as well as singles and doubles and the first since 2011 when Austen Childs garnered All-American honors in singles and again in doubles while paired Viktor Maksimcuk. That same year, Louisville reached the regional finals at the University of Kentucky.
