Donnet and Salle named to singles teams, Salle and Rodrigues earn doubles honors
GREENSBORO, N.C. – The University of Louisville men's tennis team placed two singles players and a doubles team on the All-Atlantic Coast Conference teams as announced by the league office today. Etienne Donnet earned second team All-ACC singles honors while Fabien Salle was named to the third team. Salle joined teammate Natan Rodrigues on the all-conference second team.
Donnet (Lyon, France) takes home his second straight All-ACC honor after compiling a 25-8 overall singles record and an 18-5 mark in dual matches playing mostly at No. 2. During the season, he posted a 6-3 record against ACC opponents. The senior currently stands at No. 42 in the Intercollegiate Tennis Association singles rankings and has seven wins against nationally-ranked players.
Salle (Thonon-les-Bains, France) also earns his second all-ACC nod, finishing the regular season with a team-best 27-9 overall singles tally and a 15-5 mark in dual matches playing primarily at No. 3. The graduate senior went 8-3 in ACC matches this season. He is slotted at No. 58 in the ITA singles rankings with five victories over nationally-ranked players.
The tandem of Salle and Natan Rodrigues (Salvador Bahia, Brazil) registered a 23-7 overall record, going 7-3 as Louisville's top-seeded team. The duo stands at No. 12 in the doubles rankings, appearing in the top 20 throughout eight ranking periods.
The 34th-ranked Cardinals earned the No. 7 seed in the 2023 Atlantic Coast Conference Championships and defeated 10th-seeded Notre Dame 4-3 in the second round before falling to eventual runner-up Duke in quarterfinals.
Louisville will learn its NCAA postseason fate when the selection airs at 6:30 p.m. Monday evening on NCAA.com.
