Cardinals To Host Tennessee In Final Spring Exhibtion Match

LOUISVILLE, Ky. -- The University of Louisville volleyball team will host Tennessee Saturday, April 15 at 6 p.m. at L&N Federal Credit Union Arena. Admission is free but on a first-come-first serve basis.

The match will be the last for the 2023 spring exhibition season for the Cardinals, who beat Kentucky and Ohio State but fell to the professional team Athletes Unlimited. Â

The Orange & White posted a record of 17-14 overall and 11-7 in SEC play. The Lady Vols finished tied for fourth in the league and earned an at-large bid into the field, marking its 17th appearance in the NCAA Tournament. It was the second consecutive trip to the dance for UT and its third under head coach Eve Rackham Watt.Â

Cards fans last saw the Vols when UT faced Purdue in the first round of the NCAA in Louisville. UT dropped a heartbreaker to No. 8-seeded Purdue in L&N Arena in the opening round of the NCAA Tournament, falling in five sets (25-14, 14-25, 25-22, 22-25, 11-15).

The teams last squared off in November of 2011 in the KFC Yum! Center when the UT beat the Cards 3-0.
