
Former Cardinal Standout Federico Gomez Wins First Professional Singles Title

2019 graduate Federico Gomez wins the 2023 M15 Naples, Florida Tournament
Former University of Louisville men's tennis standout Federico Gomez won the 2023 M15 Naples, Florida tournament championship in singles and doubles, marking the first professional singles title and second doubles title of his career.
In singles, Gomez registered five consecutive wins in the tournament with his first and second round victories coming in straight sets against the United State's Ryan Dickerson and Kyle Kang respectively. He then defeated Argentina's Ignacio Monzon 6-3, 1-6. 6-2 and the USA's Tristan McCormick 2-6, 7-5, 6-3 to reach the finals where he beat Argentina's Matias Franco Descotte 6-4, 6-0.
Gomez teamed with Monzon for four straight wins to take the doubles title.
The Buenos Aires, Argentina native graduated from Louisville in 2019.
