Morris and Perroni Lead Cards to First ACC Win

LOUISVILLE, Ky. – Hannah Morris and Nicole Perroni scored three goals apiece to lead the University of Louisville women's lacrosse team to a 12-9 Atlantic Coast Conference victory on Sunday at L&N Stadium.
The win moved the Cards to 4-2 overall and 1-1 in the ACC, while the Panthers fell to 3-3 and 0-2 in the league.
Morris reached her season high with her first hat trick and Perroni notched her third hat trick of the year to pace the Cards.
After Pitt scored the first two goals of the game, Kokoro Nakazawa put Louisville on the board and Morris and Perroni gave the Cards the lead in the first quarter at 3-2.
Louisville added five goals in the second quarter, including two by Morris to extend the lead to 8-4 the half.
After Negai Nakazawa put the Cards up 9-5, the Panthers tied the score at 9-9 with four goals in the fourth quarter.
After the Panthers battled back, Negai Nakazawa, Perroni and Koko Nakazawa scored three unanswered tallies in a span of 2:53 to ice the second-straight win for the Cardinals.
Louisville returns to action on Saturday to face No. 4 Boston College at 11 a.m. ET in Chestnut Hill, Mass.
