LOUISVILLE, Ky. – The University of Louisville women's lacrosse program begins its 2023 season as they host No. 9 Denver on Friday at 1 p.m. ET and No. 25 Colorado on Sunday at noon at the UofL Lacrosse Stadium.
Last season, the Cardinals finished 7-11 after playing six ranked opponents and the eventual national champion and runner up in North Carolina and Boston College.
Louisville is 12-3 in home openers and won their first matchup at home in the 2022 season with an 18-9 win over Marquette. Of the three defeats, two have come from ranked opponents with a loss to No. 1 Northwestern in 2012 and a loss to No. 8 Florida in 2021.
UofL is 10-5 all-time in season openers and 5-3 in the past eight openers. Their three losses in the last eight seasons have come to Northwestern and Florida and a one-point loss in overtime against Colorado in 2022.

Head Coach Scott Teeter enters his sixth season at Louisville, 21st overall, with a record of 173-170 in 20 seasons as a head coach.
