Cards face the Bearcats in lone match of the weekend
LOUISVILLE, Ky. – The University of Louisville women's tennis team will host regional foe Cincinnati on Friday at 11 a.m. ET at the Bass-Rudd Tennis Center.

The Cardinals (4-2) are coming off of a split weekend with a 6-1 loss to Vanderbilt and a close 4-3 win against James Madison. Against Vanderbilt, Tyra Richardson won the Cardinals' only point with a 6-3, 6-2 win over Dasha Kourkina at the No. 6 singles position. Jamilah Snells and Cici Xin won 7-5 in doubles against Bridget Stammel and Amy Stevens. Against James Madison, UofL picked up the doubles point with wins at the No. 1 and No. 2 pairs. The duo of Andrea Di Palma and Rhea Verma defeated Kylie Moulin and Ines Oliveira 6-2 and Snells and Cici won 6-3 against Daniela Voloh and Daria Munteanu. Di Palma won the Cardinals' first singles point with a 6-4, 6-4 win at the No. 1 spot. Richardson won 7-5, 6-2 at the No. 6 position. The match came down to the final game with Xin clinching the match with two tiebreaker wins at the No. 4 spot. Xin won 7-6 (7-3), 7-6 (7-5) after being down 5-2 in the second set.

Cincinnati (2-4) split the weekend with a 4-0 loss to Utah on Saturday and a 4-1 win over Montana. The Bearcats dropped the doubles point against the Utes with losses at the No. 2 and No. 3 pairs. Utah claimed No. 4, No. 5, and No. 6 in singles to win the match. The Bearcats responded with a win over Montana, starting by sweeping all doubles courts to take the first point. Natasha Opaciuch won easily at the No. 6 spot 6-0, 6-4. The other two doubles wins came from tiebreakers in the first set before a strong finish in the second. Elizabeth Pendergast won 7-5, 6-0 at No. 1 and Callie Flanagan won 7-6 (5), 6-4 at No. 4.
