Perroni Named to All-ACC Preseason Team

Cards ranked 8th in Preseason Poll
LOUISVILLE, Ky. – Nicole Perroni, a senior on the University of Louisville women's lacrosse team, was named to the All-Atlantic Coast Conference Preseason Team, the league announced on Tuesday. Perroni was one of 16 players honored and one of six midfielders.
The Ontario-native returns for her final season after a stellar junior season where she was named to the IWLCA All-Region Second Team. Perroni finished the season with 50 goals, seven assists, 57 points, 64 draw controls, 34 ground balls and 28 caused turnovers. The midfielder ranked second on the team in goals, points, ground balls, and draw controls. She was ranked second in the ACC in caused turnovers per game (1.56) and eighth in groundballs per game (1.89).
As a team, the Cardinals were ranked eighth in the preseason poll after finishing the 2022 season 7-11 (1-7 in the ACC). The Cards were 0-6 against ranked teams and 7-5 against unranked teams.
The Cards are facing their toughest schedule yet in 2023. UofL will play eight opponents ranked by USA Lacrosse Magazine, including four in the top 10. Louisville will also face seven 2022 NCAA Tournament teams, six from the ACC, including national champion North Carolina and runner-up Boston College.
