
Cardinals Welcome Piet Steveker

LOUISVILLE, Ky. – University of Louisville men's tennis coach Rodrigo da Silva has announced that Piet Steveker has signed a National Letter-of-Intent to play for the Cardinals. He will join the team starting in the 2023-24 season.
"We are very happy to welcome Piet to the team," said da Silva. "He was a doubles national champion in and has had great singles results in Germany and on the International Tennis Federation Circuit."
Steveker comes to Louisville from Wuppertal, Germany and was ranked as high as No. 6 in the country in juniors and earned an International Tennis Federation ranking of 317. He brings an impressive juniors resume which includes winning the 2021 J4 Hamburg title in singles and doubles. He also reached the doubles semifinals of the J2 Hannover, and the J3 Neunkirchen in 2022.
In singles, Steveker was a semifinalist in the 2022 J5 Wien and 2022 J4 Hamburg and reached quarterfinals of the J2 Hannover and the J4 Offenbach in 2022.
