Seniors Cressoni and Steinbach were honored for Senior Day prior to the start of the doubleheader
LOUISVILLE, Ky. -  The No. 50 University of Louisville men's tennis team went 1-1 in Sunday's double header, falling 4-1 to No. 23 Stanford. The Cardinals then swept their crosstown match up 4-0 against Bellarmine at the Bass-Rudd Tennis Center
No. 23 Stanford 4, No. 50 Louisville 1
Louisville's Pedro Cressoni and Andre' Steinbach fell to the No. 86- ranked duo on court two, 6-3, to start doubles competition. Shortly after the Cardinals' pair of Hamza El Amine and Louis Chusseau responded with a 6-4 victory over Samir Banerjee and Jagger Leach on court three.
With the doubles point on the line, Walid Ahouda and Matei Onofrei battled the No. 6- ranked tandem of Alex Chang and Alexander Razeghi on court one, pushing the match into a tiebreak. Louisville ultimately came up short, 7-6 (7-4), as the Cardinal secured the doubles point.
In singles action, the Cards came out strong as Ahouda defeated Banerjee in straight sets on court one, 6-4, 6-3, to tie the match at 1-1. The win marked Ahouda's 11th singles victory in 2026, improving his season record to 11-6.
The Cardinals battled hard but ultimately dropped the remaining singles matches allowing Stanford to take courts two, six and five to claim a 4-1 victory.Â

Bellarmine only had five available players, so it forfeited a doubles court and a singles court.Â
In doubles competition, the duo of Ahouda and Onofrei were able to notch the victory in a tiebreak, 7-6 (8-6), against Bellarmine's Ryan Parkins and Eli Wood, clinching the doubles point for the Cards.
Singles play saw both singles points come in straight sets. Freshman Jerald Carroll finished first on court four, 6-2 6-1 followed by a 6-1, 6-3 win by Ahouda to advance the Cardinals to a 4-0 win.
The Cards will take a road trip to Chestnut Hill, Mass. to take on conference opponent Boston College on Friday, March 27 with first serve scheduled for 5 p.m. ET.
