
Plumb Honored as NFHCA Division I National Scholar Athlete of the Year

Aimee Plumb earns the award for the second straight year
GENEVA, N.Y. – The University of Louisville's Aimee Plumb was named the National Field Hockey Coaches Association Division I National Scholar Athlete of the Year as announced by the organization today.

The honor is presented annually to the Division I All-American who earns the highest cumulative grade-point average through the first semester of the current academic year.

This marks the second straight NFHCA National Scholar-Athlete honor for Plumb who also earned the award in 2021. She was also the 2022 ACC Field Hockey Scholar Athlete of the year. Plumb has maintained a 4.0 career grade point average while majoring in Psychology and with minors in Art and Spanish and. The junior is a three-time NFHCA Division I National Academic Squad Member and All-ACC Academic Team selection. She is also a five-time Dean's Scholar at Louisville and earned a place on the ACC Academic Honor Roll each of her seasons at Louisville.

The forward from Canterbury, Kent, England picked up her second-straight NFHCA All-America honor after leading Louisville in scoring with a career-best eight goals, seven assists and 23 points. Five of her eight goals stood as game winners, ranking third in the ACC in that category. Plumb is also a two-time NFHCA All-West Region and All-ACC selection.

This marks the third consecutive year that a Louisville student-athlete has received NFHCA National Scholar Athlete honors with Meghan Schneider earning recognition in 2020.

The academic honor is the latest for the Cardinals who led all Division I field hockey programs with a 3.81 team GPA, placed 11 student-athletes on the NFHCA Scholar of Distinction list, while 17 were named to the2022 NFHCA National Academic Squad.

The UofL field hockey team registered a 12-8 overall record after earning its fourth-straight NCAA tournament bid. The Cardinals were ranked No. 12 in the final NFHCA Coaches Poll after spending the entire season in the top 15 and reaching as high as No. 4 in the 2022 campaign.
