Louisville Lacrosse Moves Up to No. 23 in IWLCA Poll

The Cards are ranked for the second consecutive week for the first time since 2021.
LOUISVILLE, Ky. – Following a dominant 14-7 win over Lindenwood, the University of Louisville lacrosse team moved up in the Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association (IWLCA) Top 25 poll to No. 23.
The Cardinals were also ranked No. 19 in the USA Lacrosse Magazine weekly poll.
Louisville advanced behind a solid performance from two Cardinals. Nicole Perroni and Kokoro Nakazawa each scored four goals to move the Cards to 2-1 on the season. Perroni's four goals came in eight shots (five shots on goal) and the junior was 2-for-2 in free position shots. The Ontario-native added one groundball and two draw controls to the stat sheet. Nakazawa scored her first four goals of the season on four shots (four shots on goal) and had one assist.
It marks the first time that Louisville has been ranked for consecutive weeks since the 2021 season.
Seven ACC teams are represented in the IWLCA poll including three in the top five with No. 1 North Carolina, No. 2 Syracuse, and No. 4 Boston College.
The Cardinals open conference season against No. 12 Virginia on Saturday at 1 p.m. ET.
