Savage earns her second ACC honor of the season, while Miller receives the first of his career.
GREENSBORO, N.C. – Two University of Louisville track and field athletes were honored by the ACC for their performances last weekend at the Tiger Paw Invite, as announced by the conference office Tuesday.
Cameron Miller was named the ACC Men's Track Performer of the Week for the first time in his career, while Synclair Savage earned the ACC Women's Field Performer of the Week award for the second time this season.
Miller set a Louisville school record in the men's 200m dash for the third time this season in placing first at the Tiger Paw Invite hosted by Clemson. The redshirt junior's time of 20.33 led a highly competitive field that featured seven athletes who boasted top-16 times in the 200m entering the weekend. The performance also stands as a new facility record at the Clemson Indoor Track & Field Complex and places Miller second nationally in the event this season.
Savage earned fourth place in the women's long jump at the Tiger Paw Invite with a leap of 6.39m (20-11.75). The junior from Kennesaw, Ga. has now bested the previous Louisville school record of 6.27m (20-7) heading into the season in all three of her competitions in 2022-23, culminating in a jump of 6.52m (21-4.75) at the PNC Lenny Lyles Invitational that currently stands sixth nationally.
The Cardinals continue preparation to host the ACC Indoor Track & Field Championships for the first time in school history, with the meet scheduled to take place from Feb. 23-25 at the Norton Healthcare Sports & Learning Center.
