No. 7 Cardinals Set to Host Georgia Tech in Regular Season Finale

LOUISVILLE, Ky. – The No. 7-ranked University of Louisville volleyball team plays host to No. 12-ranked Georgia Tech at 5 p.m. Wednesday afternoon in the final regular season match for the two teams.

The Cardinals fell 25-19, 26-24, 24-26, 21-25, 15-17 to now No. 3-ranked Pittsburgh on the road Saturday afternoon, moving to 23-4 overall and 14-3 in the ACC. Outside hitter Anna DeBeer registered a career-high 29 kills while hitting .404 and adding 17 digs and two blocks. Outside hitter Charitie Luper tallied her career-high in kills as well, finishing with 24 to go along with 13 digs and two blocks. Additionally, middle blocker Cara Cresse totaled eight kills and four blocks, opposite hitter Aiko Jones had eight kills, 10 digs, two blocks, and an ace, and middle blocker Phekran Kong added six kills and six blocks. Setter Elle Glock also recorded a career-high, notching 60 assists in the match on top of two kills and five digs, and libero Elena Scott continued to anchor the defense with 24 digs while recording five assists and an ace.

Louisville faced off against Georgia Tech earlier in the month, ultimately falling 24-26, 22-25, 25-17, 25-19 in Atlanta.

After the Cardinals close out the regular season on Wednesday, the NCAA Division I Women's Volleyball Championship bracket will be announced during a selection show at 6 p.m. on Sunday, November 26, on ESPN.

About the Yellow Jackets
Georgia Tech is 22-5 overall and 13-4 in the conference this season, coming off two road matches where the Yellow Jackets fell to Miami in three sets Friday night and swept Syracuse Sunday afternoon. On top of their win over the Cardinals, the Yellow Jackets also have significant wins over now No. 14-ranked Penn State and then No.12-ranked Ohio State (2x). Georgia Tech is led by head coach Michelle Collier, who is entering her 10th season coming off the Yellow Jackets' third consecutive NCAA Tournament appearance and is the second-winningest coach in program history. Offensively, outside hitters Tamara Otene and Bianca Bertolino lead the way, with the former tallying 335 kills on the year and the latter totaling 307 to add to her team-high 60 aces.
