No. 3 Cardinals Head for No.10 Georgia Tech and Clemson

LOUISVILLE, Ky. – The No. 3-ranked University of Louisville volleyball team is on the road this week as they travel to play No.10-ranked Georgia Tech on Friday at 7 p.m., followed by a matchup with Clemson on Sunday at 1 p.m.

The Cardinals are 20-2 overall this season and 11-1 in the ACC, coming off a weekend in which Louisville didn't drop a set as they defeated Florida State Friday night by a score of 25-20, 25-22, 25-16 and downed Miami Sunday afternoon by a score of 25-19, 25-19, 25-20. Opposite hitter Aiko Jones led the way over the two games, totaling 23 kills, 11 digs, three aces, and five blocks while hitting .498. Outside hitter Charitie Luper tallied 18 kills, 18 digs, an ace, and a block, outside hitter Anna DeBeer recorded 18 kills, 15 digs, two aces, and three blocks, and middle blocker Cara Cresse added 16 kills and four blocks.

Setter Elle Glock was named ACC Setter of the Week as she had 64 assists, 18 digs, and two blocks, while libero Elena Scott was named ACC Defensive Player of the Week as she totaled 35 digs to go along with 10 assists and two aces.

About the Yellow Jackets
Georgia Tech is 19-3 overall and `10-2 in the ACC this season. The Yellow Jackets are fresh off a thrilling five set win over Boston College on Friday and a sweep of Syracuse on Sunday. Georgia Tech has a win over then No. 8-ranked Penn State and two wins over then No. 12-ranked Ohio State this year. They are led by head coach Michelle Collier, who is entering her 10th season coming off the Yellow Jackets' third consecutive NCAA Tournament appearance and is the second-winningest coach in program history. Clemson is 14-10 overall and 5-7 in the conference, coming off back-to-back sweeps of Boston College and Syracuse over the weekend. Head coach Jackie Simpson Kirr is at the helm of the Tigers in her third season, after four years as the associate head coach. In 2022, Simpson Kirr led Clemson to its first postseason appearance since 2018 with an appearance in the NIVC, and in 2021, the Tigers started the season 10-3, marking the best start since 2014. Outside hitters Azyah Dailey and Kennedy Wagner lead the Tigers offensively with 188 and 181 kills, respectively. Libero Devan Taylor pilots the defense, tallying 322 digs on the season.
