Cards Hit the Road for Indiana

Louisville will travel to Bloomington to face Indiana in a Tuesday matchup
The fifth-ranked University of Louisville field hockey team will hit the road for a midweek matchup at Indiana Tuesday at 12 p.m.

Head Coach Justine Sowry
Justine Sowry is in her 13th season at the helm. During her time at Louisville, she has guided the Cardinals to a 176-80 record, eight NCAA tournament appearances reaching the quarterfinals twice and advancing to the semifinals for the first time in program history in the 2020-21 season. She earned ACC Coach of the Year honors in 2021.
• Under Sowry's tutelage, Louisville has tallied three conference titles, including back-to-back ACC regular season crowns (2020, 2021) as well as a pair of runner-up finishes in the ACC Championships.

Scouting the Hoosiers: Indiana enters Tuesday's matchup with a 5-7 overall record following a 1-0 win over Bellarmine on Sunday.
• The Hoosiers are led offensively by Sarah Charley who has tallied four goals and three assists for 11 points.
• Arabella Loveridge and Shannon McNally have shared time in the cage and combined for a 2.78 goals against average and two shutouts.

The Cardinals gear up for a pair of games against top-five opponents starting with an ACC road contest at No. 4 Duke on Friday. Louisville will then return to Trager Stadium to take on No. 3 Iowa on Sunday.

Rylie Wollerton, Emilia Kaczmarczyk and Jane Ramsay scored as Louisville tallied 11 corners and a season-high 22 shots on goal while the Cardinals' defense did not allow the Chippewas to record a shot in the contest in Louisville's fifth shutout of the season. CMU got a valiant effort by goalkeeper Katie Maxim who recorded 17 saves in the contest.

UofL stands at No. 5 in the Penn Monto/NFHCA poll released on Oct. 3, marking the second straight week at No. 5 and the fifth consecutive top-5 showing. The Cardinals have been ranked inside the top 10 throughout the entire season.
• The Cards had been ranked among the top 10 for 45 of the last 47 ranking periods spanning back to 2019 when they appeared at No. 8 on Sept. 10.
• Louisville has now spent 112 consecutive weeks in the top 20 in the nation dating back to the 2013 season.

The Cardinals' 2023 schedule features eight opponents currently ranked among the top 20 in the NFHCA rankings including six top-10 teams.
