CHARLOTTE, N.C. – The University of Louisville placed three student-athletes on the 2023 All-Atlantic Coast Conference Field Hockey Teams as announced by the league office today. Mia Duchars earned first team honors while Emilia Kaczmarczyk and Julie Kouijzer were named to the second team in a vote by the ACC's seven coaches.
Â
Duchars picks up her first all-conference honor after an impressive senior season. The senior midfielder from St. Louis stands second on the team with a career-high four assist and scored the game-winning goal in the Cardinals' double-overtime win at No. 13 Boston College. She earned ACC Defensive Player of the Week award twice this season while helping the Cardinals to a league-best six shutouts.
Â
Kaczmarczyk, a midfielder from Melton Mowbray, England, earns first all-conference recognition. The fifth-year senior and team co-captain is in the midst of a career-best season, standing tied for the team lead with five goals and has dishing out a pair of assists for 12 points. Kaczmarczyk was also a 2022 National Field Hockey Coaches Association All-West Region selection.
Â
Kouijzer takes home her third straight all-ACC nod. The fifth-year senior defender and team co-captain from Amsterdam, The Netherlands, has helped lead the Cardinals defense a league-best 0.95 goals against average along with six shutouts this season. The two-time NFHCA All-American and three-time All-West Region selection has tallied three goals and registered a trio of assists this season.
