
Rincon Accepts National Coach Position with USTA

Assistant coach Mario Rincon accepts offer with United States Tennis Association
LOUISVILLE, Ky. – UofL men's tennis assistant coach Mario Rincon has accepted an offer to be a national coach for the United States Tennis Association (USTA).
"I want to thank Rodrigo (da Silva) for bringing me to the University of Louisville and giving me the opportunity to work for one of the best athletic departments in the country," said Rincon on his time in Louisville. "I have enjoyed every single day of my last four years with the team, and I will miss everyone dearly. Rodrigo has an amazing culture in place, and the team will continue to be a force nationally and in the ACC."
"It's a tremendous honor for me to be named the USTA National Coach," Rincon continued. "The last four years at UofL have been a great part of my development as a coach, and Louisville will always be a special place for me and my family."
"We were very lucky to have Mario in Louisville for the last four years," said head coach Rodrigo da Silva. "He was a crucial part in what we have built so far. The players and I will miss him, but we are very happy for him and his family. He will always be part of the Louisville family."
Rincon will be coaching at the highest level of tennis in the United States as the USTA is the national governing body for tennis. He will travel to and coach in major international tournaments in addition to having voting power in wild card draws at the U.S. Open.
