The second round was suspended due to darkness
GOLF, Ill. — The University of Louisville women's golf team was back on the course for the first and second round of the Windy City Collegiate, held at the Glen View Club. A couple of Cardinals were still on the course as darkness descended so the second round was suspended until Tuesday morning. The Cardinals as a team are in ninth place at 5-under-par and three golfers still need to finish their second round.
A pair of Cardinals are in the top-20 as Carmen Griffiths and Hana Ryskova are tied for 18th at 3-under-par as both players still need to finish their second round. Griffiths and Ryskova are both through the 15th hole before the second round was suspended. Griffiths is 3-under-par through 15 holes and Ryskova is 2-over-par in the second round.
In the first round, Ryskova paced the Cards with a season-best 5-under-par 67. After a bogey on the second hole, Ryskova finished the final 16 holes with six birdies to finish her best 18-hole round since the 2021-22 season. Griffiths finished the first round with an even-par 72.
Rylee Suttor is the third Cardinal that still needs to finish the second round, as she was also through 15 holes in the second round. She is currently tied for 58th overall at 3-over-par. In her second round, she is 1-under-par through 15 holes after shooting a 4-over-par 76 in the first round.
Gabbi Bentancourt was one of the two Cardinals to finish both rounds of play on Monday and she is tied for 45th overall at even par. She shot a 2-over-par 74 in the first round and followed it up with a 2-under-par 70 in the second round.
Beatriz Barrios is the other Cardinal with two complete rounds and she is tied for 74th overall at 7-over-par. She was 2-over-par 74 in the first round and 5-over-par 77 in the second round.
